There Is No

at The Crane Arts

November 8 - December 12, 2013

There Is No was exhibited as part of the Juvenile In Justice exhibition at The Crane Arts. The exhibition was curated by Julien Robson and Rachel Zimmerman and features the work of photographer Richard Ross, ceramicist Roberto Lugo, and painter Mat Tomezsko.

A recent study concluded that 94 people are directly affected by the homicide of one individual. In 2012, I worked with young people at the Covenant House, a shelter facility for homeless youth, in Kensington to create imagery that approaches the subject of such devastating loss. I made a series of 94 paintings in reaction to the experience. Each of the 94 images represents one of those individuals affected by one death.
